Trepak’s sustainability and environmental work
The term ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) is often used in descriptions of companies’ sustainability work. We have chosen to look at our sustainability work and social responsibility from an economic, environmental, and social perspective.
Sustainable business is one of our most important focus areas
Sustainable business is a prerequisite for long-term profitable growth. For us, this is self-evident, and our sustainability work is a natural part of the working day in all parts of our business. These may be small behavioural changes that in the long term have a large positive impact on more thorough and resource-intensive initiatives. Our sustainability work is long-term, and by concentrating it on areas where we have the greatest opportunity to influence development, we can make a real difference.
Sustainability issues in focus:
-
- Climate emissions
- Energy use and type of energy
- Material use
- Waste disposal
- Quality
- Financial results
Economic responsibility
To achieve a healthy profit, it is important to make use of all resources with care and work efficiently on all levels. For many years, Trepak has had a clear focus on long-term growth with profitability. The long-term perspective permeates all parts of the business, and Trepak thereby takes responsibility for and contributes to improving the society we operate in. Our community responsibility means that we must as far as possible ensure that our processes and products do not affect human health or our environment in a negative way. By constantly adopting new technology and being at the forefront of product development, we want to ensure that the company’s production has the least possible impact on health and the environment, while at the same time operating in an efficient and profitable manner.
Environmental responsibility
Trepak is a manufacturing company with operations that lead to an environmental impact of various kinds. The main impact is due to the use of energy and materials, but the creation of waste and climate emissions also means a burden on the environment. Trepak also sees risks primarily with regards to access to, from an environmental perspective, more sustainable materials, and the opportunities to adapt in accordance with the UN’s sustainability goals. To manage the risks, the company works continuously to improve its environmental performance.
Social responsibility
Our social responsibility is about taking responsibility for the employees and ensuring that each individual has a good working environment with regards to both physical and psychosocial factors. Our surveys show that our customers and suppliers also believe that a safe, secure and healthy workplace is one of the most important sustainability issues for our company. Furthermore, the social aspects of sustainability are about taking responsibility for people and the development of the local community in which the company operates.
